Quotes

Maurice Blanchot everyday speech.

Every individual carries in himself a set of reflections of intensions that is to say reticencess that commit him to an oblique existence.

This quote made me think first of all what reticences means. Which is I think is to be quiet, to themselves, don’t stir the pot. But how this would commit him to an oblique existence. What is an oblique existence. I don’t know what that means, is that a boring and very structured existence. Reticencess means to be quiet reserved I found it on dictionary.com . I think the author is saying it’s not enough to be reserved because that makes you follow that normalcy of the everyday. He is saying you need to be suspicious of the state and the government and the industry. People need to ask questions and make choices. This is what I got for this quote but it is still pretty fuzzy. I understood the rest of the article but not this paragraph
