So I was bored. I decided to try to do some of Yoko’s impossible poems. I tried a few. The first was to hear a clock and keep the time going second by second in my head. I did it for about one minute. After that I was off beat. I cannon see how this is possible to do all night. Another one I tried was to count all the stars in the sky. Now this is even more impossible than the last. First of all it is so hard to count all of those stars. Second you lose track of which ones you counted. And finally if you do get to the end the stars will have moved because of the earth’s rotation.
I think she makes these impossible things to challenge people and there minds, how they see the world. I think she writes these things to show how people should slow down, enjoy, listen, think and be a part of the earth. Possibly she has a sort of Buddhist outlook. Just a thought.
