My freeze
I was totally caught of guard when the sneeze happened I thought for sure I had time to take a seat. I wanted so badly to look around and see others reactions. It was extremely hard to stand in that position. However I think it worked better because I was about to sit. I was mid sit and I had to freeze. It opened my mind half sitting standing. I had to concentrate on my body what it was doing how to stop it from shaking. I think the freeze had more meaning to me than something cool and funny. It made a link from my brain back to my body a conscious link of what I should do. It gave me time to reflect on what was going on. I felt like a fly on the wall looking around but not moving. I felt invisible like no one could see me because I could see nothing. I felt like a fly because I was almost detached from the library scene and was an observer to the library life. The freeze helped me achieve an observer’s eye.

Graffiti trick
Went off without a hitch. It was a little obvious that it was us. Meaning the artists were easily spotted and identified. However I think the point got across that it was shocking and unexpected to see at school. I would never think of someone painting on the UW Bothell campus and neither did the students we had. The culture of graffiti is not known to Bothell and that is why we brought it there. We wanted people maybe not exposed to it in there everyday to feel how it feels to see and be up close to this way of life. Graffiti is accepted in Seattle, New York, industrial areas, destroyed sites but why not at Bothell. I did not see any graffiti anywhere in the city of Bothell ever. Why isn’t it accepted? Is it because it is the suburbs, more of a nicer neighborhood, it’s looked down upon by the elite of Bothell. Everyone needs to express themselves. I think that Bothell thinks that they are secluded from everything, crime, destruction, they are living in a bubble like bubble boy. Bothell and bubble boy are similar in many ways. They are both living in a secluded world except that bubble boy wants to experience the world and Bothell just wants to be the perfect city.
Culure jamming with halo

Culture jamming is by definition: activism which is generally in opposition to commercialism, and the vectors of corporate image. Culture jamming sometimes entails transforming mass media to produce ironic or satirical commentary about itself, using the original medium's communication method. Culture jamming to me is very fun I am going to try to do it for a blog. However here is a video that explains culture jamming quite well and also is doing it at the same time by using halo as a media. The culture jamming to me is a funny way of saying hey this is wrong, bombarding us with stuff that we cannot get around. Advertisements on the news, on my phone, at schools, even in hospitals which I was at the other weekend. How can people stand this violation of privacy? Personally it makes me angry. I can see how this is helpful for them to make money but it’s gone too far. I think the situationalists had a good idea fight the man with there own advertisements. Its like when you’re a kid and change Ford to Fix Or Repair Daily. The situationalist have the best thing going for them, funny and makes you think.

graffiti
Tried my hand at anti advertising. I put it on a computer. It said unplug. I wanted those people who saw it to think I don’t need all of this technology, I’m still going to live if I don’t have my computer, my cell, or my ipod. When I put up the sign I felt the adrenaline pumping. Even though I knew I wasn’t hurting anything I felt like a secret agent planting secret devices. I was watching my back looking for staff, watching for kids starring, I stuck around for a little and saw one person look at my message. I think they got the message but they just kept going on with their lives. However one thing I observed was that once I put it up it was like that computer was off limits. No one went near it or tried to use it. So I decided to try what I want others to do. I tried to do this for a half of a day. I turned off my phone, didn’t use my computer. This was a weird feeling. I felt alone and vulnerable. I had gone to the mall by myself to buy some gifts. When I got there I pulled out my phone but it was off. I had lost my security blanket. I always checked m technology when I felt alone or needed to do something to kill time. It was a nervous habit like cracking your knuckles or biting your nails. As the day went on I felt weird still. When I looked at my phone no one had messaged me nothing bad happened. It was ok.

graffiti now and then

Graffiti has been around for a long time as in the Catacombs of Rome or at Pompeii. Usage of the word has evolved to include any graphics applied to surfaces in a manner that constitutes vandalism. It has been found in Egypt, Rome, and Asia all over the world. The graffiti in the ancient times represented street life, it also showed errors in spelling and grammar in this graffiti offer insight into the degree of literacy. The ancient Romans carved graffiti on walls and monuments, examples of which also survive in Egypt. Many of the first graffiti installations were advertisements for prostitution. Recently there has been a revolution of graffiti. In the 1920’s graffiti changed into a modern idea. It was done on box cars and buildings. France in the 1960’s was a large surge of graffiti because of the wars and strikes. They were described as revolutionary, anarchist. They were mostly anti war phrases and anarchist views. In the 1960’s in America graffiti was used mostly by political activists also. The graffiti was at the same time done by gangs such as the Savage Skulls, La Familia, and Savage Nomads to mark their territory. Next graffiti migrated to New York and blew up with tags and bombs. Basically there mark saying I was here. Then in the 1970’s spray paint began to dominate graffiti. This new rise in popularity started the state to intervene and create task forces to combat this new art. In the late seventies and early eighties graffiti began to inter twine with hip hop and rap. In the mid-eighties it became dangerous to do graffiti because of turf wars and the large anti graffiti task forces. There has been a recent change in the graffiti image. Now there are public funded graffiti walls and graffiti in art galleries. Graffiti has come a long way but is still thriving with the youth of America. There are still the gangs and taggers and turf tags but graffiti has become more accepted.

The graffiti artist is about one thing

The Splasher splasher is a common thing. He does what has been done by many people. He splashed splasher graffiti. The men in the movie who paint over the graffiti are splasher splasher splashers etc. They cover up graffiti many times upon layer and layer. I just thought it was funny that these people are similar in the way they cover graffiti. Now back to the movie we watched today. The goal of the graffiti artist is to leave there mark. And the crew cleaning up is still leaving there mark for the artist. They are changing it to a rectangle but it is still there disturbing the landscape. The crew will never ever get the wall to look proper again and this is the goal of the artist. Isn’t the painting just adding to the problem, making more clean canvas. That’s how I see it. Also it makes the city look even worse than if they kept the art. I thought the movie was completely hilarious the way they used the paint and had the different colors that did not match at all. I think it would look better if it was all the same color. I would like to paint a bow on all of the rectangles to make then look like presents. I think that would be a good project for the city of Portland.
youtube audio
This sound is a sound you hear everyday. Or at least most people hear this everyday. What could it be? Please take the poll to the right and vote on what the sound could be?
I’m hoping that the problem will fix and everyone can take my poll.
Here is my audio. I intended to have a poll next to this audio blog. However the audio at archive was giving me problems. Also the poll for blogger is giving me a hard time also. So i decided to just do a video to youtube. I intended to have the poll asking what you all thought the sound was. Computers are my enemy.
Anyway I don’t want to say what the sound is but I’m sure you can guess. It is something that we all listen to everyday and never notice. We only notice if the sound is irregular or broken. The sound is a sound that puts many to sleep when they are young. It is warm and multiple colors.

So I was bored. I decided to try to do some of Yoko’s impossible poems. I tried a few. The first was to hear a clock and keep the time going second by second in my head. I did it for about one minute. After that I was off beat. I cannon see how this is possible to do all night. Another one I tried was to count all the stars in the sky. Now this is even more impossible than the last. First of all it is so hard to count all of those stars. Second you lose track of which ones you counted. And finally if you do get to the end the stars will have moved because of the earth’s rotation.
I think she makes these impossible things to challenge people and there minds, how they see the world. I think she writes these things to show how people should slow down, enjoy, listen, think and be a part of the earth. Possibly she has a sort of Buddhist outlook. Just a thought.

My try at novels in three lines
Jobless rate jumped to a 14-year high of 6.5% in October, buttressing warnings that rival the worst of World War II.
The German sports-car maker Porsche said Friday that its pretax profit in the fiscal year was about $10.9 billion. Eighty percent of that came not from making cars but from sophisticated instruments.

Kit Bakke Author of the book Miss Alcott’s e-mail was the speaker. She was a Vietnam War activist of the most extreme kind. She had a FBI file 400 pgs thick, lived in the “underground” for 2 years. She took part in secret negotiations with the Viakong and North Koreans to stop the war. Listening to her talk about the activism and the war made me want to read her book. Her life is so interesting. Her book is about her life and the author of Little Women life. Her life and Louisa May Alcott lives are similar. They were both activists, fighting for different things but both fighting. At first it was hard to follow what she was saying because another class at UW was learning all about the historical aspect of this era. After a while I caught onto what she was talking about.
At first she talked about the writing process and the guidelines, things to do and don’t, you should follow. The reading was very insightful. I’m not too familiar with the Vietnam War and late 1800’s. I would like to learn more about the 60’s and 70’s. I know the surface details about the war but nothing about what really happened in the streets or the protests. Her book is mainly the protests and the riots. She relates the things she experienced with Miss Alcott in a sort of time warp. She is emailing Miss Alcott things that have happened since her time. I will hopefully read this book in the future.

Amazon kindle a portable device that oprah uses. Who cares what oprah uses. She may be rich and famous but I would not like to meet her. Back to the kindle is it is an electronic book that has many books indie of it. Why not just buy each book. It is defeating the point of writing and reading. A slide is for sale, it is a huge slide made of slippery plastic. If you bought this slide for this redicuously low price it would cost more to ship it to your house that the thing itself. There is a advertisement about buying 2 video games and getting one for free. Of course there is the fine print of must be of equal or lesser valus, cannot be used with any other offer, cannot be reproduced or used on past purchases. This makes me laugh because what can you use it on a old game from 1998 with bunnies on it. Nothing good is ever for a good price. Winterize you car, get ready for winter. Does your car know that it is winter, how can you get an inadimate object to be ready for something it does not even know. All the car knows is go stop and im out of fuel.

Man and woman elk horned pigs. They are in china in the bamboo forests walking through it reminds me of the movie crouching tiger hidden dragon in the part where they are fighting in the bamboo forest and sword fighting. They are on a path through the dense bamboo forest on a journey y to the food source because they eat veggies and other plants of that sort. It s all old and black and white that annoys me because how do I know there one purled pigs or grey pigs maybe this part of the world where these pigs are located is in the grey area, there is a big tree next to them which has a broken branch jutted out and broken off over the path. My dad was going to cut down a tree this morning like this tree. The elks are very pretty with their camouflage and they are looking for something or at something ahead. I bet it’s a mountain that they have to scale in order to find there food. Food sounds good to me right now I have some food in my backpack that I want to eat right now. It looks so good me eating f=my food imaginingt it. This computers keyboard is very annoying the delete key is not precisely where I usually have it on my computer I usually type on a lap top so it’s hard for me to type on this thing because I have to push the buttons down harder and the word document doesn’t correct my errors which makes me mad. I have a test next period that will be hard it will take the most brain power ever that any o fumy other tests I don’t even know what to expect. That’s scary. I need to go buy a heater today for my boat it needs to be done isn’t this exercise supposed to free my mind I feel like imp us making a list of what I want of do later today.
This looks like a space ship on the plant of earth I have seen this museum in Washington dc and it looks quite similar to this it was a super cool one it was fun and I learned a lot. I saw the loner lender and astronaut us suits. Wow I have really bead spelling when I type so fast I feel like I need to go a=faster than I am I totally toe more letters with my left had that I do on l=my right its weird like that maybe because there are more common letters over here on the left but this keyboard is pissing me off loot.. I need to have a laptop keyboard to type accurately but back to the picture its is pretty cool people in old fashioned clothes looking around and stuff ceased in glass. It reminds me of the room where I saw the one blue diamond that one cursed one that was in titanic irk what it is called the ocean diamond or something idk. But that’s exact ally what the roam looked like my arms are suddenly getting really tired of typing. I saw a sweet bike outs9dde the room it was felt it was cool it had carbon rear and front forks which was probably pricey I want bicycle these people in the picture are so old looking it must be like 1960 with their funny pants and old lady with a dress that looks black and like a old time teacher. I want the computer to fix my grammar. There is a ball sphere above the room it looks like one big light that illuminates the whole room and there is aliens like the Indiana Jones movie with the crystal skull that was magnetic which the movie sucked but this room looks just like it . This exercise sucks its giving me headache thinking about tanking about thinking about nothing I super hard to do like the Buddhists that have nothing in their minds when they meditate. My finders are really tired maybe I should stop early.
Little models are super cool they are so detailed in there smallness. I would like to have a model of a mini x star mastercraft boat that had a mini wakeboarder on the back. That would be cool then I could try to do tricks that the little person could do so I could see in theory what is possible and how to do it or I could jump on my trampoline that would be fun. I wonder how much my computer class in middle school has taught me how to type imp such a bad type I need to take another class like one where I can’t see my keyboard because I look at it all the time hey the computer does fix little mistakes I make imp going to spell check soon I need it or maybe imp just a brilliant speller. It could be I’m so tired not imp gong to story typing soon I hope he calls time soon I can’t bare it I have to write essays soon that will kill me imp using my mind too much I need to stop what imp doing I need to free my mind and maybe the pain from my area will go away this lady had a mini bone hanging from her necklace I find that hilarious did she steal it from a dinosaur around the corner I bet she did how sneaky this picture is all old too ion hate old pictures like this I just want to go home this is mankind me so tired I reputed myself maybe I have dyslexia irk. I should stop I like not using proper etiquette its nice not having to fix problems. I’m so tired imp going to fall asleep and dream like the surrealists that we talk about in class I think were odone.im opeckthr computer its. Fun like thru way we all used or type=e its bad and horribly inefficient imp way better this way I hope I can type faster when I older
Maybe ill do a enter like that ENTER I like that word

I thought the movies we saw today were very interesting. The aspect of duration was very prevalent in both movies. I have personally waited for a subway but when I waited, I waited a very long time. It was a duration exercise. I also did not know exactly where or what I was doing but while waiting I remember having a bunch of subways pass. It seemed much darker in the subway in Washington DC because it is all concrete not like the tile in the movie. It was also a lot cleaner. In the movie the subway full of graffiti and was very dirty, it seemed very similar in most other ways. People keeping to themselves, but looking around the car. Everyone people watched and moving around all the time. Stopping every few minutes some people getting off people getting on and not that much talking just like the movie.
My car rides now consist of more music playing however there are lots of random thoughts that get thrown around, like people with broken arms on the street, fat friends, talk of famous people. The car driving is a little different I the style of roads and type of driving but the overall conversation was similar to my car rides.
The car ride and the subway ride are perfect representations of duration because they are long and very boring. I think both movies showed how boring and long they are.
The movie was so long that I felt I had a nothing moment. The moment about half way through the Ackerman movie I suddenly woke up if you want to call it that. I was like what was I ding where had I been what happened around me. I felt like I just woke up from a nap. Could I have been tapping into my unconscious? I did not remember anything but it was a weird feeling. Like when you are in a blank.
But back to the movies. The duration in the movies and the real thing were very similar. I never noticed the duration aspect of car rides or subways. I would never have thought of subway and car rides as duration or what I used to think of duration was. In the Ackerman film the duration was more boring. I value the duration in a subway more because it is something I don’t do everyday while the car duration I could not take watching. I enjoyed the Ackerman movie much more even thought it was a longer duration I value it more because it interests.

comedy in the everday
I was watching TV flipping late at night the other day and I began watching comedy central. Normally there is a stupid cartoon gross comedy on at the wee hours of the night but tonight it was standup. I can’t remember the guy it was a funny guy who was making jokes about his day. I found it really similar to the everyday. He talked about the simple and small things that we do and think about everyday.
But he made comments that made these everyday things funny. It dawned on me that they are artists talking about the everyday. I cant remember the specific jokes and some of them are inappropriate for school but it was funny and so familiar to the everyday. He talked about driving, and married life, and toilets. The regular comedic things but they were the everyday.

Old time movie
This video seems pointless. I don’t understand what the relay does for this. It is really like a 30 second clip extended into a 5 minute show. Sometimes I think it is like a lay on words how it was replayed made some of the words sound different they were meant to be but I don’t understand what this is for. Was it made for shock value? I’m not sure what this thing was all about but I do think it was interesting how the artist chose this scene. It’s like an old beaver cleaver type clip. Where the little boy is mad and storms out and the sister I think says sorry. I thought it was a funny clip to choose.

life and death
Time is of the essence these days. What will the future hold? Will it be scary or will it be fun. I don’t think about the future I’m concerned with what is happening to me now. Life is so busy you never know when it will be taken from you. That’s how I feel now. I almost died today while driving. It makes you appreciate things. Like having a nice car. I appreciate my car much more now that I have seen people lose there’s. How can people not know what they have? Some of my friends have super nice things. And they treat then like junk. They don’t care because it means noting to them. Everything is worth something to somebody. Today just made me appreciate my things more.

Confusing and shocking
First off I don’t understand this movie at all. The most horrifying thing about the movie was the eyeball getting cut open. I did not expect that to happen. I think that was the opening shock. What was this movie about? Was it a movie to shock people I think it was. It was so random and out place. There were dead deer on pianos bleeding, there was a street outside the door then all of a sudden it was a beach. I could not follow this movie possible because there were no words. It went from a nun on a bike to a man in the room to a man she loves on the beach. It is the same man. Does she love the man who molests her and tries to lock her in the room. Also whose hand is in the box and what does the box represent. Overall I watched the movie several times and don’t understand one bit.

In Life I am Worth 1.6 million when im 65
The Game of life. This game is the ultimate everyday game. The whole game is about money, retirement, and material things. The game is basically your whole life as the way it is “meant to be” in the American way.
You start the game as a single person who decides if they want go to college or start a career. You move around the board and hit things along the way. For instance, have a baby, switch jobs, buy a house, buy a better house, and etc. When you get to the end of the game you count up all your money and see who won. There is no time limit it’s just whenever you make it across the board.
I think the game reflects what we all think the real world is. It represents the middle to upper classes ideals of life. You choose your route. There is no real big problems yes you can lose your job or get sued but you never run out of money. you end up in the end with a bunch of money. The game really ever looks all aspects of the small things. Its all about life landmarks and money. There is no talk about how beautiful things are or how important the everyday things are. IT is a game about the “life of Americans.” It the game you face real issues like real life. Whether to go to college, buy a good house, cheap house.
I think this game is a fun game but doesn’t help anyone understand the everyday at all. It talks about big life situations but not the everyday
Quotes
Maurice Blanchot everyday speech.
Every individual carries in himself a set of reflections of intensions that is to say reticencess that commit him to an oblique existence.
This quote made me think first of all what reticences means. Which is I think is to be quiet, to themselves, don’t stir the pot. But how this would commit him to an oblique existence. What is an oblique existence. I don’t know what that means, is that a boring and very structured existence. Reticencess means to be quiet reserved I found it on dictionary.com . I think the author is saying it’s not enough to be reserved because that makes you follow that normalcy of the everyday. He is saying you need to be suspicious of the state and the government and the industry. People need to ask questions and make choices. This is what I got for this quote but it is still pretty fuzzy. I understood the rest of the article but not this paragraph

Groups
I am infernally irritated by group projects. There is always a pattern to a group. There is one slacker who says they will do things but never do or take over something else that isnt theres but does not finish there part. There is a person who leads the group and will do anything for a good grade. There is a hard worker who does there part and shows up and is a good group member. Finally there is the person who is just there the average person. All of these people upset me. The obviousness of who people are is crazy. I learned you have to be a very rude person to have a good group. Or pick your own people. However there still will be these people just in a lesser degree.

doing nothing for twenty
This is hard to do. I’m lying in my bed thinking about how I feel. Did you ever notice that you don’t sense anything like you feet or your hands until they hurt? We never as Americans care about anything until it breaks. Like when I was doing nothing for twenty minutes I felt my back tense up. I never feel my back. It is just a part of my body nobody thinks of there back.
After that five minute thought I began to think of how my television works. It is staring me right in the face and I never knew how it worked. I think it has something to do with a tube and a bulb I saw one built on how it’s made but don’t remember anything from that. Wow I twenty minutes was a long time, especially when you are doing nothing. It feels like an eternity. I don’t even remember what else I thought about.
